POETRY IN MOTION
INSPIRATION
Lanvin Creative Director Bruno Sialelli continues to explore the notion of men’s wardrobe, from the runway to the street. With the “Poetry in motion” capsule collection, Bruno Sialelli highlights the modern urban adventurers: skateboarders. As documented by Hugh Holland, the pioneer photographer in 1970’s California – free-wheeling dudes with their sun-scorched hair, sharks teeth around their necks, hanging out on beaches around the world.
Those explorers do not, however, neglect their tailoring. In this luxury wardrobe, maximum attention is given to the fabric and materials with silk, merino wool and virgin wool.
Bruno Sialelli chose French artist, photographer, and skateboarder, Djiby Kebe to catch the essence of the collection through a series of exclusive images. Graduated from French cinema school Kourtrajmé, Kebe brought in his crew to style and wear the collection.
COLLECTION
The collection gives a twist to classic jackets: some now have zipped pockets, others have lost their sleeves. The iconic « Mother & Daughter » logo is used on jersey pieces as well as on bracelets, and the « JL » monogram is featured on iconic denim pieces and caps.
We find the codes of the « MTV Hero » character already imagined by Bruno Sialelli for the FW20 « Beach Birds » collection ; the laces of the « Curb » sneakers become drawstrings on hoodies and details at the waistband of pants.
With more than 130 years of history, the oldest fashion house still in activity today questions the new sense of luxury through the elevation of the daily wardrobe.
The limited edition capsule collection is available on Lanvin.com and at Lanvin boutiques worldwide as of October 28.
